Catchin Up

So, I've been away for a bit.  The movie wrapped in Aspen, Im kinda still broke...meaning I dont have enough money to do what I want...well I do...but I wont be able to live much longer after that and the fact that I have 2 big ass dogs, kinda keeps me from gettin crazy with my cash.

I am waiting for the work in New Mexico to pick up, while I hang out in Arkansas.  Im thinkin about getting a head shot done and turning it over to the casting agent/ whoever is in charge of hiring actors.  I reckon, Im not to cute, but Im not to ugly, and I can tell a lie or 2 when I need too.  So why the hell cant I give acting a shot, eh?

Other than that, I dont have much.  I got a photo shoot or 2 in my mind that I need to do on med format.  And yea...Im stopping to catch my breath and clear my mind, then Ill go from there

Ill post pictures sometime in the future

Around town

Here are some stills from around the crummy little town that I grew up in.  The bathroom and the abandoned room are stills from the prison camp at/on Fort Chaffee.

The church...I got nothin'....but, the print is entitled "the restoration of God"

Same thing for the bridges...nothing special, just an old train bridge that I think still works.

This is the first time I got together with friends and actually sat down and thought of an actual theme/shoot.  Usually I just go out and start shooting when I am inspired.  But on this day we just decided to do something totally off the wall.  So we grabbed our friend Lauren and put her in a dress, gave her a hammer and an ax, slapped a gas mask over her face and called it good.  It was 17 deg. out and we could only stand the cold for about 10 min.  Speaking from experience, shooting off 36 exposures seems to take forever in the cold!

Artsy fartsy

This will be my last post of the night, mainly because this is the only other photo I have online...and I am without my computer or a computer with my work....sigh....

So this is another one of the few that has gotten a little bit of recognition with people. Basically, I was out driving around in Jan. of this year after my wife and I split up. I went back to my home town in good ole Arkiesaw...which I will be very honest, the town I grew up in really sucks, but however! It has some amazing photography of the old and run down. This is a new ferries wheel, but chances are NO ONE will end up riding it. This photograph almost makes it look a little outdated and worn.

When I first looked at this through the viewfinder I remembered thinking...man that's boring, we gotta change this up a bit. So I got way close and framed it to my liking and I personally think it looks a bit more interesting than just a full on frontal of a carnival ride. The lens is a 50mm prime T2. My film stock was some outdated 200spd kodak...and going off the cuff here I am going to guess that I was shooting around f11 at 500.

This is my ode to Andy Warhol. This picture was taken in the dead of winter in a field with just 2 of my friends, it was so cold that I could not feel my fingers click the shutter. I'm not to big into pop art, but to me this felt right. The original Black and White is an amazing picture don't get me wrong. But sometimes ya gotta get a little crazy with the post process and this is what comes
out.

This is one of the pictures of my first collection that has been taken somewhat seriously. As more of these pictures surface, you'll see why. (I think its because they are somewhat original...or maybe just different) either way, people tend to stop and take notice, which is what all photographers want right? A chance to make people stop and say "Hmm"

Making movies

So, today is the 5th of May. I have been working a feature (movie) here in Aspen Colorado. It's going fairly well. No broken bones...maybe a few hurt feelings here and there. Any who, all is well. I kinda wish Aspen had film developers that developed true black and white film. I don't want to risk cross processing. Hell, I drove all over God's creation for 36 exposures, it would be a waste if they got flashed.

My "work" is starting to be taken seriously, so this will be my outlet to show my photographs and explain a bit about them...hence photo-bloggerism. I will have some pictures being posted soon, some kinda crazy and some just artsy BS, but photos all the same!

And one more note, I write like I think, so try to keep up.
